Hanse Yachts AG has appointed Performance Cruising Yachts as its new exclusive dealer in Australia, marking a significant step in strengthening the Hanse Yachts Group’s presence across the Australian market. The appointment covers the full Hanse Yachts Group portfolio, including Hanse, Moody, Dehler, Sealine, Fjord and Ryck, bringing six internationally respected sailing and power yacht brands under one dealership.
Performance Cruising Yachts is one of Australia’s most established and progressive yacht importers, with a long-standing reputation for representing leading international brands and supporting owners throughout every stage of their boating journey. The company has built its success on deep technical expertise, hands-on experience and a strong commitment to long-term owner support.
Founded by Matt Hayes, an Olympian, circumnavigator and multiple Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race veteran, Performance Cruising Yachts has evolved into a dynamic and highly experienced team of sailors and boaters. The team remains actively involved on the water, most recently competing in the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, ensuring that advice and support are grounded in real-world performance, seamanship and practical ownership experience.
While the business has a respected heritage in sailing yachts, it also brings extensive expertise in modern powerboat ownership, handling and onboard systems. As part of its appointment, Performance Cruising Yachts has already committed to two highly specified stock yachts. A Hanse 410 will be delivered into a Sydney-based Yacht Share program, offering new owners structured access to the Hanse brand, while a Hanse 460 will arrive as a premium stock model, providing Australian buyers with immediate access to one of Hanse’s most popular and versatile designs.
A key strength of the dealership is its close relationship with sister company Sydney By Sail, one of Australia’s largest on-water sailing and charter operations.
