KPC to Acquire Sunseeker International New Ownership Ahead

British luxury yacht manufacturer Sunseeker is set to enter a new chapter as KPC, a private investment vehicle, moves to acquire the Poole-based company. The transaction, first reported by Sky News, would mark the third change of ownership in less than two years for one of the United Kingdom’s most recognised marine brands.

The deal follows months of financial restructuring overseen by Teneo, which was appointed in late 2025 to guide the company through a challenging period marked by the collapse of its US export market and softer global demand. Sunseeker employs around 2,000 people across its Dorset facilities, making it one of the region’s largest industrial employers.

KPC is expected to install Antony Sheriff as chairman. Sheriff previously served as executive chairman of Princess Yachts and held senior leadership roles at McLaren Automotive and Aston Martin. His appointment signals an intention to strengthen Sunseeker’s luxury positioning and strategic direction.

Meanwhile, Andres Rubio, former CEO of Intrum and a veteran of major investment firms, is anticipated to take on the role of chief executive. His background in recapitalisation and restructuring suggests a renewed focus on financial stability and operational efficiency.

The acquisition remains subject to approval under the National Security and Investment Act, due to the company’s ownership of key marina and manufacturing sites.

Founded in Poole in 1969, Sunseeker builds luxury motor yachts from 38 to over 130 feet and remains one of Britain’s most visible luxury manufacturing brands. Despite recent turbulence, its order book continues to show activity, including the upcoming 134 Superyacht, with two hulls reportedly sold.

If completed, the KPC acquisition could provide the stability and strategic leadership required to restore Sunseeker’s momentum in the global luxury yacht market.
