The Italian shipyard Maiora, part of the Next Yacht Group, has launched the first model of the new M Series, the Maiora M|36. The 37-meter-long yacht features a composite hull with a superstructure spanning three decks.
The exterior, created by Maiora in collaboration with Italian studio Quartostile, features a sporty silhouette with light and shadow interactions, and cool hull tones complemented by dark glass and warm tones of teak, which, according to a spokesperson for Quartostile, was aimed at benchmarking the future of the brand, with a design process that combines advanced engineering and close collaboration.
The interior is the result of a collaboration between Italian studio Acube Design and Maiora's in-house Centro Stile, who were also involved in the development of the Maiora 36 Exuma. The interior features natural materials to create an atmosphere of comfort, practicality and well-being, with smooth lines and continuous surfaces for harmonious relaxation. The five staterooms on board can accommodate up to 12 guests, with the master suite on the main deck spanning a width of 8.2 meters, and four additional staterooms on the lower deck, as well as a separate dormitory for the five crew members.
The design team set out to create a “natural extension of the ocean” with spaces both inside and out, a salon with a full-beam bow and opening side windows, and versatility at the heart of the Maiora M|36's design, with lounge, dining, bar and sunbathing spaces on the upper decks that can be configured to suit the needs of each individual, and an aft folding bulwark with hidden pool options that can be flexibly adapted to suit different uses. An Acube Design spokesperson explains that the M|36 breaks down the barrier between inside and outside, with teak flooring extending into the interior, and handcrafted leather detailing and artistic elements giving each area a sophisticated, modern look.
Owners can choose between two propulsion options: twin MAN V12-2200 engines for a top speed of 24 knots or the more powerful twin MTU 16V2000 M96L engines for speeds of up to 30 knots. The first Maiora M|36 is currently under construction at the shipyard in Viareggio, Italy, and is expected to be launched in the summer of 2026.
