As the launch date approaches, the first Outer Reef 780 Adventure yacht officially begins a new era for Outer Reef Yachts. The first steel project for Outer Reef Yachts, it is the first of several superyacht models to be launched.
The 780 Adventure series was born out of the successful merger between Outer Reef and Dutch superyacht builder Lynx Yachts, which is located about an hour's drive east of Amsterdam's Nijkerk Airport, and has already begun work on a model called the Adventure 24, which is scheduled to enter service on spec in 2023. The project was carried out in 2024 and is scheduled for commissioning in 2023. The project was renamed in 2024 to better fit Outer Reef's development model.
Considering that Outer Reef's customers have always valued long-distance cruising, this entry-level megayacht is no exception. The word ‘adventurous’ means that the owner can embark on more ambitious journeys. In addition to a steel hull that can cope with more complex conditions, the yacht's engine configuration opens up a wide range of cruising destinations. In fact, the twin Cummins engines enable the yacht to reach a range of 7 nautical miles at 3000 knots. Even at an expected cruising speed of just over 11 knots, the Outer Reef 780 Adventure is capable of travelling 1450 nautical miles. What's more, at 7 knots, the fuel consumption is only 9 gph ((33 liters/hour)), while at cruising speed it is around 30 gph (112 liters/hour).
This cruising flexibility is also reflected in the layout of the yacht. The first Outer Reef 780 Adventure features three staterooms, including, of course, a full-width master suite. However, for slightly larger families or groups of friends, future hulls can be requested with four staterooms. In this case, the full-width owner's suite will become two VIP cabins of equal size. Additionally, owners have another lifestyle option: to run the yacht themselves or hire up to four crew members, including the captain.
As cruising is center on immersing oneself in the scenery along the way, the yacht features spacious alfresco lounging, entertaining and dining areas on both decks. In addition, the deep-water swim platform is an ideal area for water toys.
Currently, Hull 1 is still for sale, giving buyers plenty of time to personalize the design and plan a global voyage.
