Founded in 1998 by Taiwanese designer Howard Chen, Selene Yachts was initially set up as a seagoing luxury cruiser. specialising in semi-customised ocean-going trawlers, Selene has gradually built up a reputation amongst long-distance sailing enthusiasts for its rugged construction, excellent stability and good range performance. The brand's early designs blended the attention to detail of Eastern craftsmanship with the functional orientation of Western hull engineering. Today, Selene's design team is headquartered in Zhuhai, China, where the founder continues to lead the development of the product line.
