Amels 89m Here Comes the Sun Superyacht Sale: Top 6 Details

Following her recent sale, the 89-metre Here Comes the Sun once again commands attention as one of the most recognisable yachts ever delivered by Amels. Launched in 2016 and delivered in 2017, she remains the only yacht built on the Amels Limited Edition 272 platform and a long-standing icon of the Dutch yard’s semi-custom programme.

Designed with a clear family focus and shaped by two of Britain’s most respected studios, the yacht continues to stand out for her scale, rebuild pedigree and lifestyle credentials. Here are six key details behind the superyacht that keeps turning heads.

A record-setting milestone for Amels Limited Editions

At delivery, Here Comes the Sun marked a major milestone for Amels. At 89 metres, she became the largest yacht ever launched under the yard’s Limited Editions programme and the biggest interpretation of the 272 platform.

Although semi-custom in concept, the project was tailored to feel fully bespoke, reflecting the owner’s vision of a private, family-oriented yacht with long-term cruising appeal. She held the title of flagship Limited Edition yacht for six years, only now set to be surpassed by the upcoming 120-metre Project Tanzanite.

A name rooted in music and owner continuity

The yacht’s name reflects a personal tradition established by her original owner, inspired by songs from British rock band The Beatles. Here Comes the Sun followed the owner’s previous Amels Limited Edition 212, Imagine, later renamed Ventum Maris.

The musical theme continued with a subsequent commission, the 60-metre Come Together, delivered in 2022 as Amels’ first collaboration with Espen Øino. Together, the fleet highlights a long-term relationship between owner and shipyard.

A major rebuild that redefined the yacht

In 2021, Here Comes the Sun returned to Amels’ Vlissingen City shipyard for a comprehensive 16-month rebuild, carried out by the original construction team in collaboration with Azure Naval Architects.

The project saw the yacht lengthened by six metres and her volume increase by nearly 3,000GT. Key upgrades included two additional VIP suites, a new helipad, a redesigned sundeck with Jacuzzi and gym, and a refreshed interior throughout.

The transformation was recognised industry-wide, earning the yacht the Neptune Award for Best Rebuilt Yacht at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards.

A yacht show standout with headline appeal

With her navy blue hull and ice-white superstructure introduced during the rebuild, Here Comes the Sun has become a consistent showstopper on the international yacht circuit. Frequently ranking among the largest yachts on display, she attracts attention wherever she appears.

Her most recent spotlight moment came at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show, where she was listed for sale and made headlines by displaying a limited-edition Aston Martin Valhalla hypercar on her foredeck helipad, reinforcing the link between yachting and high-performance automotive culture.

Dual-helipad capability for seamless arrivals

Designed to accommodate up to 20 guests across 10 cabins, including a full-beam owner’s deck, Here Comes the Sun offers true dual-helicopter capability. Her expansive exterior deck spaces exceed 1,000 square metres and include a fully operational sundeck helipad suitable for aircraft such as the Bell 429 and EC145.

A secondary touch-and-go helipad on the bow allows for flexible arrivals and departures, enhancing both privacy and operational efficiency.

Wellness-led living with a strong connection to the sea

Wellness sits at the core of the yacht’s onboard experience. Her seven-metre main-deck swimming pool was upgraded during the rebuild with contraflow jets, enabling full counter-current swimming. Below, the reimagined beach club opens on three sides, creating a direct connection to the water while serving as the gateway to a dedicated spa area.

Facilities include a sauna, steam room, plunge pool and beauty salon, reinforcing the yacht’s original brief as a relaxed, family-focused platform designed for extended time on the water.
