US-based Lazzara Yachts has officially begun construction on the first hull of its new UHV 160 series, marking a significant milestone for the shipyard’s growing superyacht portfolio. The 48-metre yacht is scheduled for delivery in mid-2028 and represents the largest model in the yard’s Ultra High Volume (UHV) range.

As its name suggests, the UHV 160 has been engineered to maximise internal volume while remaining just under the 500GT threshold — a strategic benchmark that allows owners to benefit from expansive onboard space without entering a more complex regulatory category. According to the yard, the yacht offers exterior and interior volumes comparable to those typically found on 51- to 58-metre yachts.
Designed with long-range cruising and transatlantic capability in mind, the UHV 160 features a fast-displacement hull built in advanced epoxy E-glass composite. Notably, the structure eliminates traditional through-hulls to enhance strength and long-term durability. Naval architecture is by Mulder Design, while engineering development has been completed in collaboration with US-based Euro Marine Group.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests across six cabins, with a full-beam owner’s suite positioned on a private deck. Five crew cabins ensure operational efficiency for extended voyages.

Interior design is entrusted to UK studio H2 Yacht Design, with inspiration drawn from the elegance of the Art Deco and Neoclassical eras. The concept blends timeless aesthetics with contemporary comfort, reinforcing the yacht’s luxury credentials.
Outdoor living plays a central role in the UHV 160’s layout. Four decks provide multiple al fresco dining areas, lounge spaces and sunpads, while the expansive flybridge incorporates a dedicated gym and yoga zone. A standout feature is the large aft beach club, complete with a jacuzzi, fold-out balconies and storage for water toys and twin Jet Skis.
Powered by commercial-grade pod drives for reduced vibration and improved efficiency, the UHV 160 underscores Lazzara’s commitment to performance, sustainability and ultra-high-volume luxury in the sub-500GT segment.
