US-headquartered Lazzara Yachts has officially begun construction on the first hull of its flagship UHV 160, a 49-metre high-volume explorer yacht designed for global cruising. Scheduled for delivery in mid-2028, the UHV 160 represents the largest model in the yard’s Ultra High Volume (UHV) series and underscores Lazzara’s ambition in the sub-500GT superyacht segment.

Originally introduced as the UHV 150, the project evolved to 160 feet to maximize onboard lifestyle opportunities while maintaining its core philosophy: exceptional interior volume combined with long-range capability. With a gross tonnage just under 500GT, the yacht delivers interior space typically associated with vessels closer to 58 metres, offering owners the feel of a significantly larger superyacht without crossing regulatory thresholds.
Naval architecture is by Dutch studio Mulder Design, while engineering is handled by US-based Euro Marine Group. Exterior styling comes from Lazzara’s in-house team, continuing the sleek, glass-rich profile seen across the UHV range. Expansive curved glazing on the upper decks enhances natural light and strengthens the yacht’s contemporary explorer aesthetic.

The interior, created in collaboration with UK-based H2 Yacht Design, will accommodate 12 guests across six staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite on a private deck. Crew quarters for up to 10 ensure seamless global operations.
Designed with outdoor living in mind, the UHV 160 features a multi-level beach club with fold-down platforms, a glass-fronted Jacuzzi and a transformer platform for enhanced water access. A spacious flybridge integrates alfresco dining, sun lounges and a dedicated gym/yoga area.
Built in advanced composite with a fast-displacement hull, powered by MAN engines and pod drives, the yacht is expected to reach approximately 15 knots. Combining transatlantic capability with ultra-high volume comfort, the UHV 160 is positioned as a serious contender in the next generation of explorer yachts.
