US-based start-up Volare Boats has made its market debut with the launch of the Artemis 23, a 23-foot all-electric day boat unveiled in November 2025. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, the company is led by a team of former Scout Boats engineers and managers, bringing established series-production experience into the electric leisure boat segment.
According to Volare, the Artemis 23 is a clean-sheet design developed specifically for electric propulsion, rather than a converted internal-combustion platform. The boat is positioned as a versatile day cruiser aimed at owners seeking quiet operation, reduced maintenance and a simplified, modern boating experience.
The Artemis 23 features a lightweight composite hull developed in collaboration with naval designers and incorporates an integrated hydrofoil system. The hull, foil and electric drivetrain are engineered as a single system, with the aim of improving hydrodynamic efficiency and lowering energy consumption. Volare claims class-leading battery range, although detailed performance and endurance figures have not yet been disclosed. Energy is supplied by modular battery systems designed for efficient packaging and scalability.
Designed for ease of use, the boat is equipped with a 360-degree joystick control system, allowing precise low-speed manoeuvring and intuitive docking. The open deck layout reflects the model’s day-boat focus, with an emphasis on ergonomics and the reduction of complex onboard systems to simplify ownership and maintenance.
Production and development are based entirely in Charleston. Volare is currently accepting reservations for the Artemis 23, with the initial production run limited as the company builds its dealer and service network. With this first model, Volare targets the growing premium market for electric day boats, positioning Artemis as a modern, user-friendly entry in the segment.
