RIVA, the iconic Italian yacht builder and a leading brand within the Ferretti Group, has officially launched SAIRU, the largest superyacht ever built under the RIVA name. Measuring 54 metres in length, the new flagship was launched from the Group’s Ancona facilities and represents the first hull of the new Riva 54METRI series.
The launch of SAIRU marks a significant milestone in RIVA’s evolution, extending the brand’s renowned design philosophy into the large superyacht segment for the first time. Long celebrated for its distinctive blend of elegance, innovation and Italian craftsmanship, RIVA now enters a new dimension while remaining firmly rooted in its iconic DNA.
Built entirely from aluminium, SAIRU has been engineered to remain under 500GT, ensuring design coherence, regulatory efficiency and optimised onboard comfort. The project is the result of a close collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, responsible for the yacht’s exterior styling and interiors, and the Ferretti Group’s engineering and construction teams.
The yacht’s exterior presents a bold yet refined profile, instantly recognisable as RIVA. Signature elements include counter-curved glazing, cut-out bulwarks and a sophisticated colour palette of greys and blacks, giving the yacht a sculptural presence while preserving visual lightness and balance across her four decks.
Accommodation is provided for up to ten guests, supported by eleven crew members. An amidships elevator connects the lower, main and upper decks, enhancing circulation and accessibility throughout the yacht. Interior spaces showcase a refined mix of premium materials, including Sahara Noir and Bianco Rhino marble, natural teak and leather finishes, creating an atmosphere that balances contemporary luxury with timeless elegance.
Outdoor living is a defining feature of SAIRU. Highlights include fold-out terraces that expand deck space, a five-metre swimming pool located at the stern, and expansive sunbathing areas. At the bow, generous sunpads discreetly conceal technical equipment, maintaining the yacht’s clean lines.
From a technical perspective, SAIRU is equipped with advanced soundproofing solutions, electric stabilisers and state-of-the-art navigation systems, including Starlink connectivity. According to Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi, SAIRU is “a new wonder of the sea,” paying tribute to Carlo Riva’s original megayacht vision while redefining the brand’s future in the superyacht arena.
With SAIRU, RIVA confidently extends its legacy into the realm of large superyachts, combining technical ambition with unmistakable Italian style.
