Riva has revealed an early preview of its next major superyacht project, the Riva 42m Caravelle, during Ferretti Group’s press conference at boot Düsseldorf 2026. Positioned as a defined project rather than a finished unveiling, the Caravelle marks a clear step forward in Riva’s expansion into the semi-custom superyacht segment.
The yacht measures 42 metres, features a semi-displacement hull, and is already under construction in Italy, with the first launch planned for 2027. Both exterior and interior design are by Officina Italiana Design, ensuring continuity with Riva’s modern, performance-driven design language. No performance figures, layouts or propulsion details were disclosed at this stage.
Imagery shown at the presentation highlights a long, low-profile silhouette, with restrained superstructure height and dark horizontal glazing bands that visually elongate the yacht. The aft areas appear stepped and terrace-like, prioritising outdoor living space, while the hull volume is carried well aft in line with the semi-displacement platform.
Ferretti Group executives described the Caravelle as a response to evolving owner expectations, aiming to balance speed, comfort and broader cruising capability. Rather than a one-off flagship, the project was introduced as a flexible concept that could evolve further depending on demand.
The Caravelle name references both historic 15th-century sailing ships and Riva’s own 1960s-era model, positioning the new yacht as a continuation of the brand’s heritage at a larger scale.
The 42m Caravelle joins the Riva 54 Metri and the upcoming Riva 70 Metri, reinforcing Riva’s growing presence in the superyacht market.
