Royal Huisman has officially begun construction of SKY, an 81-metre (264-foot) sloop set to become the world’s tallest single-mast sailing yacht. Featuring a 93-metre carbon mast—equal in height to the Statue of Liberty from base to torch—SKY represents a bold fusion of scale, performance, and luxury.
Naval architecture and exterior styling are by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design (MMYD), while Winch Design is responsible for the elegant interior, and Rondal provides the cutting-edge carbon rig and integrated sail systems. Delivery is scheduled for Spring 2030, offering a faster timeline for prospective owners thanks to advanced engineering and pre-resolved production designs.
Designed for world cruising, SKY boasts a long waterline, lift keel, and full aluminum hull with optimized weight distribution. Twin carbon composite rudders and an integrated sailing system ensure that handling remains agile and responsive, comparable to high-performance yachts under 50 metres. The yacht’s aft beach deck and foldable platforms provide close-to-water experiences, while versatile flybridge and cockpit layouts support open-air living and exceptional visibility.
The interior accommodates 10–12 guests and emphasizes natural light, clean lines, and organic textures. Highlights include a full-beam owner’s suite with direct access to the aft deck, a wellness spa, and a watersports center. SKY’s interior seamlessly blends with exterior spaces, creating a holistic connection to the sea.
Sustainability is integral: electric azimuthing pods, four main generators, and a battery bank enable silent, zero-emission operation, while energy can be regenerated under sail. The hybrid power system is certified by Lloyd’s Register, ensuring cutting-edge environmental standards.
