Shenzhen Longcheer Yacht Club was founded in May 1998 and is located on the shore of Kratie Sand Bay, Dapeng Peninsula, Shenzhen. It is the earliest member-based marine yacht club in China. With a harbour area of 11.885 hectares and 275 berths, the club was acquired in June 2006 by Vanke.
Longcheer Yacht Club is the birthplace of sailing in China. The first Shenzhen-Hong Kong Sailing Rally was held in 2002, which kicked off the domestic sailing competition. It has served as the base for the ‘China Cup’ International Regatta for six consecutive years, and in 2003, the State General Administration of Sports awarded it the title of ‘National Water Sports Training Base’; the Long Rider Cup Sailing League has greatly raised the level of competition in this sport. ‘Longcheer Rider won the overall championship in the most competitive class of the China Cup, the Beneteau 40.7, in four editions of the China Cup Regatta.
China's earliest galleon participants were all members of Longcheer Yacht Club, and they have represented the national team in top international regattas and achieved good results. Longcheer Yacht Club is also the largest youth sailing training ground in Southern China. So far, it has trained more than 1,000 young students in sailing.
In March 2019, the Longcheer Hotel and Yacht Club was put into operation, covering an area of 45,000m2 and a building area of 57,000m2. The project functions as an exclusive area for high-end yacht clubs, a design hotel, and an educational outdoor school in Meisha. It includes 292 sea-view rooms, full-time restaurants, multi-functional halls, banquet halls, rock-climbing fields, tennis courts, diving training pools, harbour runways, wedding halls, aprons and other diversified supporting service facilities, integrating professional marine sports, youth outdoor education and training, nautical experience, coastal leisure and holiday, and enjoying healthy and fashionable marine life.
